More Pictures from Bow Tie Sunday

A friend offered to take some pictures of us a few weeks back, when several of the boys decided to wear bow ties.  It was very nice of her.

A Day in the Life...

What a beautiful day!  Wearing a cute new outfit, looking forward to the adventures of the day.

Learning to roll my tongue and stick it out.

Just enjoying life.

Until...

What!?

Shot day.

Poor kid.

Did not take it well.

Needed constant love, attention, and fans after shots.  Yes fans.  He was not hot.  Just liked the feel of the fan on his face. And kept him from crying.  Can I get you any chilled grapes while I am it?

Doing much better today and will hopefully someday forgive me for this injustice.

Someone is Getting in the Mood of the Season...

Cub Scouts

I am a scout leader and this is a picture of Four at the latest pack meeting.

Fun times.

It's That Time of Year Again...

People who have known me for a long time may have been surprised to get to the middle of September without a Halloween reference (or a dozen!) from me.  I am usually ready to go by September first.  Well...I've been a little distracted lately...with the adorable little boy that came to us.  However, I am only a few weeks behind.  Not too bad.

Decorations are up...

The haunted headstone library is running...

...complete with funny grave markers...

The haunted castle is ready for the kids to embellish with the Halloween puppets.

The picture I painted several months ago fits in with the theme.

The kids crafts and Husband's pumpkins are on display.

There is a new flower arrangement.

We've put up pictures of the distant relatives...like Dorian Gray...

and Ma and Pa America.

My wrinkled, but still in excellent condition, homemade apron came out to play.

All the coffins are filled...with a variety of objects...

The Halloween blankets I made for the boys last year are warming the kids.

And the Halloween quilts I made for Husband and me are on the bed.

At least one child has been caught secretly reading one of my Halloween stories that I wrote a few years ago.  This was his first time reading Grimmton, a dark and twisted tale about two valiant brothers who attempt to save their little sister from an evil group of ruthless vampires.  I may or may not viciously kill off the children.  But it is not a tragedy.  He seemed to really get into it.

Five also read some of the stories I have written for them.  (Creatures and Creepies, Pumpkin Masquerade, The House on the Hill, In the Graveyard, Quivering Quimby, Naughty Neville etc.)  All of these are decidedly happier and more whimsical than Grimmton or some of my other mature stories.

We read and read and read...

And Four picked up another favorite.

We are listening to Duke Specials's versions of Ghost Town and Werewolves at Midnight, and the Zombie Song by Stephanie Mabey.

I love Fall!

Clothes

Baby has a large wardrobe.  We have all the clothes left over from the first couple of kids plus all the new ones that were gifts for baby.  He is very, very spoiled.

This is one of my favorites.  His brothers don't remember wearing it but they did.  Five noticed the ensemble and said, "He looks like he came from a farm, Mom."  Yeah, I guess he does.

What is new are the shoes.  He has lots of shoes - mostly from the TwirlyBird Boutique that my friend D has. (I cannot wait until he can fit into his checkerboard shoes!)  But back to the new shoes.  They are red and fantastic!  Husband may or may not have clicked Baby's heels together and whispered, "There's no place like home."  And I may or may not have laughed.  And Baby may or may not have given us a withering glance in response.

Five

This is how I feel my day goes with this one.

Mommy, I love you!  I am going to save the world!

Did you look at me wrong?

Mommy!  Look at how awesome I am!  I just put over the laundry without you asking because I wanted to be helpful.

Is there a crease in my cheese slice?  I will have your head for this.  And the heads of your children's children....

At least my spirited, passionate one is never boring...

First Bike Ride

Husband and the boys took Baby on his first bike ride  They rode a couple of miles to Yogurtland.

Yum!

Turtle Outfit

Another onesie that I consider truth in advertising.

Complete with turtle butt pants.  Does it get any cuter?

Game Day

First Fort

Three helped Baby make his first fort.

Where is Baby?

There he is!
