More DLand Pictures

Cathy bought the boys giant lollipops.  They were in heaven.

And here are a few pictures from DLand.  Probably more to come later.  I just lifted these from my
father-in-laws facebook in the meantime.

The boys had a blast and can not stop talking about how cool DLand is.

Happenings...

Four days ago, Baby woke up every hour on the hour for a five hour stretch of the night and every other hour the rest of the night.  I was a zombie the next day.  Sleep deprivation is not good for my sense of humor. But every morning, Baby wakes up, bright-eyed and seemingly totally refreshed.  How?!  How?!

Two days later, at the point of exhaustion, Baby ate at 11pm.  He fussed and fell asleep.  See you in two hours, I thought.

When he woke up and started crying, I looked at the clock.  It was 5am.  I wondered if Husband was pranking me, changing the time on the clock while I slept.  But, no.  Alas the light was just beginning to filter through the curtains.  Baby had slept for six hours!

I picked him up and started kissing him like crazy.

He looked at me as if to say, "Listen Lady.  That is not how this works.  I cry, you wake up, mix me a drink, and change my diaper.  None of this smothering kisses stuff."

Too bad, my dear.  Too bad.  Mommy got six hours of sleep!  Prepare for a party of epic proportions.

He was less colicky than usual yesterday as well.  Oh, happy day!

This morning?  Back to business as usual.  But, I can take it.  I can see a light at the end of the sleep deprivation.  Someday, Baby's colic will calm down, and someday, Baby will sleep through the night. Or at least six hours.  I can live on that.

In the meantime, since he insists on being held most of the day, he and I have been watching some movies.  I introduced him to the Lizzie Bennet Diaries on you tube.  He wasn't that interested.

Then I introduced him to foreign films.  I really like foreign films but almost never have the time to sit down and read subtitles for three hours at a stretch.  With baby's needs, I am now sitting for large stretches of time. On the plus side, he seems to like the foreign music.  And if he starts speaking Japanese, or Hindi, or Norwegian, or develops a British accent, that is just a nice bonus.

The boys love him.  We love him.  I have no idea what we would do without Baby.  He is an absolute treasure.

Baby Love

Papa and C

Papa and C came into town to take the boys to Disneyland and to meet Baby.

Baby was very pleased to meet them and was only mildly fussy for the occasion.

I typically think it is a bad idea to let kids miss school to go have fun.

However, when they can make a special memory with a grandparent...then I think it is a must!

The boys got to take a 'personal' day from school to spend time with their grandpa and C and explore DLand.  They were spoiled with a day at the park and treats to take home.  C got them giant lollipops and Papa got them Buzz Lightyear guns.

Pictures (evidence?) will be coming.

Thanks R and C!

Coding

A friend of ours noticed that Four is a bright little guy and he offered to give Four computer coding lessons this summer.

Um...yes please!

This last week, Four finished his final project and tested it on all of us.

I was so impressed with what he learned and I am so grateful to the DiGuis for giving us this opportunity.

This was awesome!  Thank you!

First Day of School

Beach Day - September

We enjoyed a corn roast family night at the beach.

N. Digui has held Baby lots.  But I have never captured it on camera.  Until now...

Baby

Four and Six

Five and Six

Snoozin...

Awake...

Finding a thumb to suck...

Smiling in the dark...
While sleeping with his eyes open...

What a cutie!

High Maintenance

Baby likes to maintain a persona of high maintenance.  Sure, he could keep his own binkie in his mouth.  But why?  When mom is nearby?

His plan:

Put her to work!

And then hold her hand captive so that once I am asleep, she cannot escape or I will wake up and we will start this little theater all over again.

Grandpa

My dad visited this weekend and met Baby for the first time.

It was a nice visit and I am glad he made the drive.

Bowtie Sunday

Some of the boys decided to wear bowties to church on Sunday to match their Daddy.

When three came to us, he was about as tall as the middle of my arm.  Once he settled in, he quickly started growing.  I threatened to ground him if he kept growing at such a rapid pace.  Three would just laugh and walk away.  I don't think he took me seriously.  And he kept growing.  I suspect he was doing it at night.  Now he is as tall as me.  And he looks like a little man.  Sigh.

And Baby decided to photo bomb his brother.

These two are so funny together.

Thoughts From the Baby

Possible thoughts from this baby...

"I'm so embarrassed!  A pink bottle?  Really?"

"I'm training to become a real vampire and the light hurts my eyes."

"I cannot believe that you keep waking ME up to feed.  Don't you know it is nighttime and I need my beauty sleep?"

Baby is doing really well.  Despite being fed from a pink bottle occasionally.  Colic is still present but it is not all day, every day - which helps.  And we are now getting three hour stretches of sleep at night before he wakes up and demands attention.  Hooray!

Baby and His Brothers

"Mom!  My brothers put me in a flashy fedora!  Again!"

Explosion!

Well...we always knew this day might come.  Three's ego got so big that his head exploded.
