Dole Plantation

After Pearl Harbor, we made a stop at the Dole Plantation to see real pineapples growing.

Then we went into the Pineapple Garden Maze, which was the largest maze in the world (in 2008).

After the maze, I wasn't feeling so hot.  So I sat down and the boys went on the Pineapple Express Train.

They saw a lot of plants growing that they would never see stateside.

Love Baby's facial expression here.

When Four was a new baby, our friends, Shaun and Jim, brought him a dole pineapple bear.  We named him Lexi Pineapple.  Four loved Lexi Pineapple.  He was his favorite toy of all time.  Sadly Lexi Pineapple is no more.  But, since we were at the plantation, we let Four get a brand new Lexi Pineapple.

Which sounds good in theory.  Except, I think that it may be possible that the new Lexi is slightly...precocious.   Or evil.  I haven't decided yet.

Why do I think this?

He always seems to be at the scene of trouble.  When a child is getting bonked in the head, Lexi is there.  When a mess is made, Lexi is there.  When a child is getting attacked from behind, all eyewitness fingers point in the direction of Lexi.

Or, probably more likely, he could be the fall guy for the boys.

I'm not sure yet...

And Five fell in love with the Turtles with the giant eyes.

By the end of the excursion, I was feeling marginally better and we marched on to other stops.
