Mud Caves

First stop?  In-N-Out.

Second Stop? Campground.

Several of the vehicles got stuck in the sand.  The boys learned how to get cars out of sand.
So educational...

Driving out to the caves...

This place looks amazing!

Exploring...

Seriously.  Does this not look incredible?

On the return trip home they stopped for dinner.

Husband went with Three and after they had so much fun, we put this place on the list of family camping places in the future.

These are the memories...

Penny for a Pape...

Well, it was only a matter a time.

I'm honestly surprised it took this long.

But, I finally did it.

It's official.

Baby has been newsified.

That's right!  I turned him into an adorable newsie.

Tell me that he is not the most adorable newsie you've ever seen.  Go ahead.  Try.

Can't do it can you?

Because he is scrumptious!

Now, all I have to do is teach him to dance and sing and my evil plan will be complete!   Bwa ha ha!

Later on this cutie threw on the hat.  I think he nails the look.  Even with his horde of superheroes with him.

Brothers

What's in a Name?

Yep...that's about right.

Speaking of Baby the Beautiful, he and I had a little encounter with a woman the other day regarding names.

Let me set the scene.  Baby and I were shopping in a quiet bookstore, minding our own business.  Baby was in the stroller, happily looking around at all the books.

Lady: Oh, what a beautiful little boy!  What's his name?
(For the purposes of this conversation, I will use his blog nom de plume - but in real life I used his name.)
Me: We named him Baby the Beautiful.
Lady: (Looking incredulous) Reeeaaaalllly?
Me: Yep.
Lady: Well, I hope you have a nice nickname for him.
Me: Oh yes.  He goes by Baby, or Baby the Beautiful.  But mostly, we call him Beautiful.  (Which in real life is a very normal classic name.)
Lady: Well!  (And not like, "Well, that is a relief," or "Well, that is adorable," but more like, "Well, that is highly offensive!")

As the lady walked away, Baby just looked up at me and smiled.  Yeah...that's the way to take that, Baby.

Believe It or Not...

Three just requested (repeatedly) books for Christmas.

Well!

Blow me down with a feather!

I couldn't get this kid to read a book two and a half years ago.  He acted like I was trying to kill him.

And now...asking for books for Christmas...my...how time marches in unexpected directions...

***

Four also asked for books.  But no romances, he insisted vehemently.

I laughed out loud and clapped my hands.

As if I would waste a good love story on my son.

Please.

Adventures for all.

Incidentally, odds were good that they would each get a book or two from me anyway.  You almost always  get either well-chosen books or homemade gifts from me for Christmas.

Recently, I've been working on some (mostly) homemade gifts.  I'll be wrapping them soon so I took pictures so I can remember how awesome everything looked.

I especially love this collage board.  It feels like a sumptuously light dessert.  Something that is light as air and rich as love.  Mmmm...yummy!

Off to find some grand adventures for my boys to disappear into on Christmas morning...

Families Supporting Adoption

We went to a Families Supporting Adoption Event at Boomers.

The boys looked forward to this all year long.

And boy did they have fun.

He slept most of the time.  That was his idea of fun.

Adoption: It's About Love

November is National Adoption Month

When not sleeping, Baby ate and smiled at everyone.

Love this event!
